Valni
valni Alpha

The Valni coding agent. Every model on your plan, in your terminal.

Valni CLI is an AI coding agent, like the Claude Code CLI. It runs on Switchboard, so you pick the best model for each task from one account, with usage, cost, and controls on every request.

What you get

Every model, one sign-in

Sign in once and every model on your plan is in the picker. No provider accounts to open and no keys to paste. Change models mid-session by picking a different one.

Full capability

Streaming, tool calling, thinking, and prompt caching work exactly as they do against the provider directly.

Ready out of the box

Switchboard, local models on your own hardware, and browser tools come built in. There is nothing else to install.

Yours to control

Permissions

Decide what your agent may do on its own and what it must never do. Your policy is enforced at the router, so a runaway agent cannot run a command you never allowed.

Spending limits

Your plan pool and a spend cap keep a runaway loop from burning through your credit.

Usage tracking

See usage by model and over time, with the cost of every request as it streams.

Private sessions

Run valni --private for a session on a local model only, with no tools and no session saved to disk.

Manage it all in your dashboard.

Get started

Three steps from an empty terminal to your first model call. Valni CLI is in alpha, so commands may change between releases.

01

Install

Install with npm. You need Node.js 22.19 or later.

npm install -g @valni/cli

npm installs a signed build for your machine: macOS on Apple silicon, macOS on Intel, Linux x64, Linux arm64.

02

Sign in from your terminal

Run valni and sign in with /login.

valni
> /login
> /model
> Say hi

Pick Switchboard. valni shows a short code and opens your browser on the approval page. Your account is created the first time you sign in, on the free tier, so you can start without paying. Each signed-in device appears under Devices, where you can revoke it any time.

03

Pick a model and go

/model shows every model on your plan. Pick one and start working.

Your plan sets which models you reach. See pricing for what each plan includes.

Update

Install the latest release over the one you have.

npm install -g @valni/cli@latest
